'03 rc and pcIIIr, need help!!! i need some help, i put the ground to my pcIIIr on the postive lead and tried starting the bike before i realized it. (i know, stupid) now the damn thing wont run. i switched it to the negative side, reinstalled a map (which i dont know if that worked), talked to dynojet and nothing they tell me works!!! the bike runs fine without the pcIIIr, but the minute i plug it back it in, it wont start, almost as if its not getting fuel to start. help me please!!!

Re: '03 rc and pcIIIr, need help!!! Does the bike turn over? Try to start it with the base map (0,1 can't remember) and see what happens.

| Re: '03 rc and pcIIIr, need help!!! I remember having issues with my 929 on and off....and it was the connections getting wet (even on a humid day) down my the motor. This is where is spits the factory harness. I am not too sure if this will help you, but I would take it appart there, and check the pins. this even happend to me when I was pulling out into traffic...it totally died right there. I hit start...and it came back after a few seconds. but I took it all appard, and re sealed it. It stopped happening after I did that.
But it does sound like it could be internal issues from the power hookup being on the wrong polarity. I would get into it with your computer, and poke around, check maps, and settings. sorry I cannot be more help.

Re: '03 rc and pcIIIr, need help!!! thanks. i pulled those red cappers yesterday and reconnected them, still nothing. i also pulled the maps out of the pc and it seems to hold them, thats why this thing is totally stumping me. i am taking it to my buddies tonight who is a mechanic, so if we cant figure it out, looks like i am buying a new pcIIIr anyone know if i can send it back to dynojet and have them tell me if its junk?

Re: '03 rc and pcIIIr, need help!!! FWIW, I had a similar-sounding problem with my 929, and 954. For the 954 the fix was adjusting the cylinder trims back to zero (it's a menu option). For whatever reason, they were all maxed out, and the bike would try to start and then stall.

Re: '03 rc and pcIIIr, need help!!! A friend of mine connected her PCIII with the ground wire to the + on the battery (on a Gixxer), and her bike would not start. After hooking up the PCIII like it's supposed to be her bike ran great with the same PCIII. Had to re-load the map though..

Re: '03 rc and pcIIIr, need help!!! well, i think its inevitable that something is toasted on my pciiir. i had it at my buddies, a mechanic, and we putzed with it some more. we had it hooked up to 2 different computers and it (pciiir) would upload maps and accept, cuz we could pull them back out to the labtop, but still wouldnt run. my buddie even messed with the map and pulled 18% fuel out to start it, didnt work. the one thing he noticed, that he thought was odd, the leds cycle up and down like crazy while hitting the starter. thanks for all your ideas, now i am off to deal with dynojet, cuz supposedly it should work
