As for Rogue, well, do you really want to be associated with a group that requires uber secret membership? Seems they are kinda arrogant over there, but that's just my opinion and the opinion of about 20 other RC riders I know.

| Re: rogue??? Actually, you can get most of the tech info without joining. Take a look at the mods/reviews section, although some of the info is becoming pretty outdated as the bulk of the testing was performed on the SP1. |

| and you would know that how since you were never a member? Or are you basing the assumption of arrogance on the fact that the forum is no longer accepting new members alone, without have the slightest knowledge of the reasons why?
Can we safely assume that the other 20 riders have never been on the board (or have been ejected for violating forum rules/policy) either?
Actually, many ROGUE members help out or moderate other RC51 forums/sections. Chances are if you get good information on any board regarding the RC51, its coming from a ROGUE member
.

| Re: rogue??? I've met a lot of great guys through ROGUE and did the VIR event last year. Had an absolute blast. There are reasons why ROGUE isn't taking new members. Ask your questions in the RC section here and they should get answered. |

Whatever the case, i'm giving you my opinion based on statements from both members and non-members. I've been told, if you disagree with the ROGUE "way", you are gone, shunned, etc. Quote: |

| So once again your opinion isn't based on any real experience with ROGUE, since you have never actually been a forum member? As for the "20" other rider with some being current members, why would they remain a member of a group that they openly criticize. Seems a little hypocritical to me. Quote: |
Originally Posted by Tank69 So by what you just said, I take it that no BAD information comes from a "ROGUE" member? If you read that last sentence, it sounds a bit arrogant as if to say "rogue members are the SOLE SOURCE of good information for the RC" | Some pretty sweeping inferences on your part. A statement that says that that if you've gotten some good technical assistance regarding RC51's chances are that the individual is a ROGUE member in no way implies that they are the sole source of good information nor does it imply that a ROGUE member can never give out erroneous info.
To that end, I'm willing to bet I can list off more ROGUE members that provide good technical assistance across other open forums than you can name that provide innaccurate information.
Now, you may not care for the delivery of said information but the accuracy of it is rarely suspect. There are some ROGUE members that will never win awards for tact and subtlety but to be quite frank that doesn't bother me. How boring would discussion forums be if we all agreed about everything?
As for the characterization that ROGUE members can be ejected for non-conformity with the forum owner's views, that's about the most funny asserion I've ever heard regarding ROGUE. Hell, I've had some very "spirited" discussions with Mike on various topics (noth on ROGUE and on MotoRush) and I've never been penalized for it in anyway. The small handful of ROGUE members that were ejected deserved it; the really funny thing is that Mike always offers to refund the forum fee irregardless.

| Re: rogue??? From: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=irregardless
ir·re·gard·less ( P ) Pronunciation Key (r-gärdls)
adv. Nonstandard
Regardless.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Probably blend of irrespective, and regardless.]
Usage Note: Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so. |

| Re: rogue??? G, I'm not going to pick apart, quote and reply to every sentence. I would never have joined rogue, I don't own a goldwing....I mean an RC51. Like I said, my opinions are based on what other members have stated. There maybe things I don't like about this board or the others I am a member of, but I look past them...if there is an issue at all. If I had major issues with a board or it's members, I would leave, simple as that.
My opinion won't change, especially after reading your analytical reply to every sentence I write. At any rate, i'm done with this thread. I made a comment about Rogue members, whether board or personal experience, and i'm standing by it....like it or not. |

Yea, that's a real credible source on ROGUE in my book.
So that being said and since you said you are done here (yea, right), why don't you have just one of the 20 riders (that is a current member of ROGUE) that provided you with the negative opinion of ROGUE to post here why he felt compelled to expound his negative opinion of the org but still chooses to be a member. I for one would like to hear his personal insights, not your second-hand relation of them.
Just one out of 20 (since they were all so outspoken against ROGUE membership) shouldn't be too hard, huh? |
