used 02 rc' value (+ssg smatterings)

Just wondering if 6500$ is a good price for a bone stock, ~1200 miled, single owner (a gal, at that), 2k2 RC?

I was contemplating a used streetbike in the spring (something used and ZRX'ish / <5k range, as Im trying to do the house thing next year too but dying being off the road) and stumbled upon this offering from a friend. Im not sure if I should be putting my pets on ebay to help pay for this thing or if its pretty run of the mill Just seems like a really good deal and so damned close to what I was gonna pay for something lesser, whats a few months!

And no, a 929/954 for this price really doesen't make me but for some reason the RC just stuck out as a good deal??

(so yes, you guys do help play the role of devils advocate here, BUT answer wisely as I may end up single and rc/owning, which means if you play your cards wrong you'll end up with me here even more then I am now )

Pretty big defference between an RC and a ZRX...get what you want based on your riding style. Its not a deal if its not what you want.

Re: used 02 rc' value (+ssg smatterings)

I paid 6500.00 for a beater 00' RC last year (Some spares that I sold brought the price down below 5700.00, but it had NO street stuff). That seems like a very good price, especially since it's an SP2 with very low mileage.

You paid attention to the wrong part of the question I think

My riding style is dirtbike trails currently, but I'm missing the street bigtime...that RC is calling my name..something addictive about it

Re: used 02 rc' value (+ssg smatterings)

I haven't checked prices lately but it does seem like a really good deal. I paid $8000 for mine at the time (it was 1.5 years old and had 2400 miles on it). If you have a hankering for an RC then I believe I would jump on it.

I was recently told by someone (when I mentioned I might sell mine this fall for something different) that mine was still worth around $7000 (it is an '00 model). I don't know the validity of that claim, but the person has been looking for a new bike lately and I would assume they have a decent grip on the going price for various bikes (they were looking at an RC potentially).

Re: used 02 rc' value (+ssg smatterings)

Well, I just paid $6500 for an 01 with a few (scratched) mods... rearsets, pipes, etc, with 14K miles, so it sounds like a killer deal. Though you have to factor a set of pipes in that prices as it is against the RC law to have one with stockers...

Short fuel range, it's hot. But who cares, it's a total blast to ride.

Got an 03 w/1900 miles for $8800 two months ago. Take that deal while you can.

Looks like a very good price, and you should jump on it. If not, what's her #?
