Front Preload

Hi,

My mate has just bought a 2002 SP2. The suspension all round was rock hard and we turned the front and rear compression right off. We are trying to adjust the front preload but have no manual.

On my real Vtwin - an RSV1000 when you screw the preload off/on you can count the number of rings. No matter how much we wound at what we thought was the front preload adjuster (the nut surrounding the rebound) no rings appeared.

What is the correct method for setting front preload?

Thanks in advance

Bluersv!

Re: Front Preload

If you loosened the standard preload rings and nothing changed, the pevious owner may have tightened them too much damaging the internals. Seems a buddy of mine had this happen, and it wasnt anything major, just had to disassemble/reassemble them and replace a relatively cheap part.
