| Graphic Art undertail woes HELP ME PLEASE!!!-
I bought a graphic art moto design undertail for my 04 RC and am not getting it to fit right on the sides. It continues to push out and doesn't line up with the rear fairing near the rear shock and the only thing holding it in is the bolts. Do I need to cut the sides of the stock undertray to make it fit (not only the rear section)? Appreciate all the help. |

| Re: Graphic Art undertail woes I think it's hitting on the stock undertail, like you might not have cut enough. I had to cut more then it asked for on my 03. the tail was different then the one in their directions. do you have a pic?
I would take the tail off, and see where its hitting. I had to cut like 1.5 inches more off from the back (towards the front of the bike).

| Re: Graphic Art undertail woes I've got a pic, but it will be this afternoon before I can get it on the site. I did end up cutting a few more inches closer to the front of the bike, but I don't think that is what is catching. I think it is the sides. I post this afternoon.

| Re: Graphic Art undertail woes The two outter post that are built into the stock undertail? Yeah, mine bit the dust. I think I ended up cutting about .5 inches too much when it was all said and done. But it worked out very well. Plus with my Sato's mounting bars to tight...it really keeps is all mounted perfectly. |

| Re: Graphic Art undertail woes Thanks fellas the pics will be up this afternoon. It just sux trying not to cut too much and since there are no 'good' instructions that makes it tough.
Thanks

| Re: Graphic Art undertail woes How did you remove your rear reflectors? Is there anything left in the stock undertail that might be hitting it? I am going to run and look at mine.
edit: ok, I looked at mine..and mine fits tight. I removed the rubber band thing from inside, and the reflectors...I also ground off a bit of things (plastic nubs) that I thought might be an issue. See, the one thing that has my tail fitting tight as hell, are the sato exhaust hangers. they press that undertail like mad. I know you hate the idea...but take the tail off, and find out what the issue is. it might be just pressing it up in there, and tucking it under...also make sure the undertail is pulled all the way back towards the back of the bike. this is make it tucked under the lip of the stock tail.

| Re: Graphic Art undertail woes Ok, I will give it a shot and let you know how it comes out tomorrow. When I put it on the first time I couldn't find where it was pushing out, but I will try again and let you know. I don't have Satos so that solution won't work for me. Thanks for all the help! I'll get back with ya manana.

| Re: Graphic Art undertail woes ok. Good luck. Let us know.
Oh. One last idea...where the screws go into the stock undertail, I had to tap them out a tad to fit the rubber gromet in there with the screw. That might be worth a look and see. The gromet on mine was balling up and creating a space there as well. Careful not to use a bit that is too big, or the bolts/holes will be worthless.

| Re: Graphic Art undertail woes Ok thanks. I think that rubber grommet that came with my 04 fit well, it is just those damn sides that are giving me issues. |
