| Tires Ok I looked around and I saw a few people run pilot powers or something along those lines, M1's.... but dont remember seeing anything about the diablos on the RC.
The bike is being picked up tomorrow with about 4k already on the stock tires I know its only a matter of time till I need new ones so I am looking from now.
I know alot of people love the diablos but are they good on the rc?
Also I found them fr and rear for $237 to my door. |

| Re: Tires Got Diablos on there right now, no complaints. Seat of the pants feel I like the M1's better, I believe they offer more grip than the Diablos (like 5-10%, somewhere in there) but decreased mileage from the rear, the Diablos do wear better. I'd try the Diablos first and see how you like the grip, maybe try a set of both and see what works best for you. I got the Diablos on the free front deal and I do like them, but if I can find M1's for the same price, I'll deal with the decreased mileage on the rear, the RC loves the damn things. |

| Re: Tires Coolbeans. Currently I ride on bridgestones so anything has to be better(although mine have done pretty well under most conditions)
How much less do you get out of the M1's. I dont mind having to change rears sooner as long as the thing is sticky. |

| Re: Tires I only ride the RC in the twisties, rarely does it commuted on or anything else. I'm definitely on the throttle alot with that bike, especially corner exits to give you some background. Rear M1 wears out around 1600-1700 miles. I almost get 3 fronts to one rear. |

| Re: Tires Run Diablo Corsas. Makes up for all the grip of the M1 and then some and offers a better profile I feel. Wear is subject. Life will depend on setup and how much you like to put the hammer down. I feel they offer about the same mileage as an M1 while offering slighly more grip.
Great tires. |

Gonna search around and see if I can get anything better then the $237, then get them mounted up over the winter. Should be able to finish off the season on the dunlops that are on there.

I thought about switching over to Pilots, but find it cost-prohibitive. I'll probably get 400-600 more miles out of Pilots than the M1. And for a $40 difference (Pilots being ~$170 to the M1 ~$130) I'm still gonna be putting rear tires on every other month. Plus I really like the M1's feedback/grip/warmup. Nothin better for the buck, IMO. Fuggetaboutit. Heck, I had a new one mounted three weeks ago, it's got a week of commuter duty and two weekends and is already half gone.
I'm still waiting for my wife to figure out the rear tire costs.... |

Might have to learn how to mount my own tires
I know there was a thread here somewhere I am gonna go look for it |

i guess my only complaint about the pilots was the time it takes them to warm up. and that isnt really a complaint. |

I have to admit the bike came with the stock D207's and besides the warmup time the tires have been pretty good minus some slippage on hard downshifts but that was alot of user error for trying to engine break the twin like I did the Seca II |

I need details damnit | I wanna say 500 or 600, I only think I remember the mileage when I put them on but I'm not positive if the number I remember is right not. I'll check my B tripmeter and see what it says, if its around 500 or 600 then thats probably right. But I do love the tires. in the miles since putting them on I have been so much more confident and have leaned further than ever before. I am far from an expert on tires because my first bike had bias plys and with the 929 the pilot sports I thought were good until I put the Powers on and finally had something to compare. And after having both, the Sports have nothing on the Powers. If I still had my old bike my riding ability would be no where near where it is today. I got so much better in the first few weeks on that bike than the whole summer last year on the old bike. I kind of have that same feeling with the new tires just to a somewhat lesser extent.

| Re: Tires My problem with tires is the only bike I can comare to was the Seca II which had BT45's (weird sport/touring tire with very little power going to them anyway)
The tires on now are the stock 207 Dunlops which other then the warm up time have been a decent tire.
I like what I have read about the powers so far so they continue to stay in the top 3 to replace the tires on there now.
I need a good grip, easily leanable (not that its a real word but it seemed appropriate ) decent mileage all around type tire for next season |
