I had the bike running a little while ago cause I finally got around to draining the tank and filling it up with fresh fuel and stabil..... I still think the stock sound is very nice but I would definately love to add a little more punch |

Dano | I like the mori's especially that they are not your standard oval shape although I have never heard them I have heard nothing but good things about them from other people |

| Re: To TGZ13... just do it! Be careful cuz I think there's a HUGE wait for Mori pipes. A few people I know have been getting the runaround from BVH about what they have "in stock" and what's "waiting to clear customs". About 2 mos sounds like the avg waiting time for new Moris. I guess since they're an Xmas present, a few month wait shouldn't be too bad though.
On the flipside, if you get an ETA on pipes from DK, you can be damn sure that it's legit. Go Satos! |

| Re: To TGZ13... just do it! based on what Jami says hurry up and order the damn things. better off having them before the riding season starts next year than have to listen to the stock exhuast (I don't care if you like how it sounds, aftermarket usually sounds better)

| Re: To TGZ13... just do it! I will be ordering something up in a few weeks either way. If they dont have them and wont be getting them I will have to figure out what I am gonna do. I dont care if they wont be in for a little while cause the bike is just sitting there collecting dust for the next 5 months anyway
Now if it gets close to spring and they still arent in someone will die |

I think a V-twins sound so evil with pipes on them, thats why I love them.

Originally Posted by TGZ13 You love the Twin but you ride an I4 explain that one would ya | when I was looking for a new bike last winter I got it down to a ZX9R or a 929 because I wanted atleast a 900 and something light. my friend had a 929 and he let me ride it a bit and that just about sealed the deal. so I started looking for both anyway figuring, found a nice ZX9 with custom paint and other goodies and a Erion at the same dealership. I fit a lot better on the 929 and it was noticeably lighter. so I put a deposit down on the erion and a week later went back and filled out all the paperwork then a week later went back and rode the bitch home. Never really thought about a v-twin at the time. a friend had a superhawk and I liked it but never rode it cause I was kinda scared of it and I could barely touch the ground. I rode it sometime later and didn't really like the relaxed riding position, too far of a reach for my short arms to the bars. and I figured the RC51 would be too much bike since it was the former race bike. now I know a lot more than I did back then and I love them (except the ram air duct on the front but it serves a good purpose) but I still think I'd go with a 929 or similar if making the choice today.

Now it will be a permanent part of my stable for life no matter what might occupy the spaces next to it.
I kind of like the big air intake... kind of adds to the mean look I love about it. |

I had a couple of miles on a friends 929. it was when were were taking our bikes out of storage the begining of march and he was bringing it to his girlfriends house on Cape Cod and of course its always colder down there so it was a little cold out but I still loved it. after I got off I was like oh man I gotta get one of these. he says he still might get another one but he's also thinking of getting the black 1000rr after he moves to florida and when he gets some money saved.

I can almost guarantee that anyone selling Moris will only sell you what BVH has or can get for them. If you called them and they said they had them IN STOCK, you better jump on them cuz there's quite a few people looking for something that doesn't exist right now.
On the off chance that you binned or had a pipe failure, do you realize how agonizing it would be to have ANOTHER indefinite wait for replacements?
Stolen from another forum: Quote:
"Took 2 1/2- 3 months and constant emails to finally get my set:
Was it worth it? Well, the fit and finish are top notch, but if you ask me if I'd wait again.....NO! I think I would've been happy with some Sato's minus the wait.
I forgot to add, that when I spoke with Bob from BVH, he had mentioned that the RC51 pipes had been discontinued and that they would need to order on a per order basis, meaning that they will not make em unless someone orders them. Maybe that's why BVH took them off of their site.

| Re: To TGZ13... just do it! Man!
Things must have changed with moriwaki's concerning RC51s... It was never a problem with spares when I had mine, in fact, most guys HAD moriwaki pipes anyway. Recently the influence has gone to Sato, so I suppose that would be the reason for the retraction in supply for the RC... Didn't know it was like that with them now... |
