Do SP-2's slap easy? Since I have a stunt bike now I kind of want something more track oriented that handles better than the fireblade. I've been looking at RC-51's but a friend told me they slap real easy. Would an ohlins stop headshake or are you still going to get it since the bike has so much torque?

Re: Do SP-2's slap easy? Out of the box the RC will not handle as good as the 'blade, me thinks. It's a lot heavier with a lot more torque. To answer your question, yes an Ohlins will help tremendously.

Re: Do SP-2's slap easy? Anything will head shake if you try hard enough, an ohlins damper will help but not necessarily completely cure. The RC51 does not handle as well as a blade, hence the popcorn eating preperation for flaming

Re: Do SP-2's slap easy? Hm.. I would go down to a 600 just because I'm tired of the way a liter bike handles, but I hate the way they rev. I end up buying an SV650..

| Re: Do SP-2's slap easy? he coulda got away with being under 18 had he not said the stupid stuntint stuff I bet. I remember a few months back we had a couple of very intelligent 16 year olds come in and ask stuff about what they should get for a good beginner bike. While technically they were breaking the rules I think they were given a free pass because they were seeking some good advice and they seemed to have a good head on their shoulders.
I wish mommy and daddy would buy me a bike but they don't even want me to have one anyway. did kinda suck telling them I had a bike on the way home from the hospital but thats in the past and my riding is much improved.

Re: Do SP-2's slap easy? The 18 year old thing came about when the site was for the FireBlade only, and no one under 18 should have a bike like that anyway. Plus, the adult stuff... But now since that's going away..... That rule could probably be removed.

I think if they've been riding for awhile (dirt and maybe a year and half on the street) then maybe a literbike would be fine. But I also don't think anyone should get a bike at 16 right when they can first drive because I think they need to learn the rules of the road and how traffic/other stupid drivers are in their area.
but yeah I guess since the adult stuff is going away you could get rid of that. up to you though and I don't think anyone will really care either way if you keep it or get rid of it.
