| New RC51 owner Hey guys, been lurking on the board for a couple of months, and with the info i got here I decided to make the switch from I-4 to V-Twin. I picked up my 05 RC on Dec. 3rd. So far these are the mods i've done: Sato C/F Banzais, Sato Rearsets, Dussault U/T, Watsen Design front LED signals, Dan Kyle Clip-ons, CRG short levers, PAIR mod(DK plates), Flapper mod(DK cover), PC3 usb. Future mods: Ohlins forks and shock, Scotts damper, maybe wheels. here's a couple pics. http://jusspress.com/photos/1671/20050303/161934.jpg http://jusspress.com/photos/1671/20050303/162727.jpg http://jusspress.com/photos/1671/200...r90_160511.jpg http://jusspress.com/photos/1671/200...270_160653.jpg http://jusspress.com/photos/1671/20050303/160758.jpg http://jusspress.com/photos/1671/200...r90_160849.jpg |

(Chico voice) Looookinngg Gooood!!! (/end Chico voice)
I swear, if I do succumb to the temptation to add an arrr-thee to the stable, I'll be hard pressed to decide between the Sato's and the 2-1 Jardine. (?Beastly, baybee! )
Congrats, and welcome!

| Re: New RC51 owner Nice ride! I met up with a guy today who has an '05 RC. The all-black is sweet lookin. He has a Scotts damper on his RC and an Ohlins on his CBR. He said he can definitely feel more (better) difference with the Ohlins, and less with the Scotts. I have been debating which to get, so make sure you really look into both before dropping the cash. The only thing about Ohlins I don't like is the size. It's a little obstrusive.

Scotts it is! | Matris and Hyperpro are the other piston-type dampers. Hyperpro is made in the Netherlands and seems very, very popular. It's a little cheaper than the Ohlins and they use the Nitrogen heat expansion. I've seen them for $399, which is the price as the Scotts. It's just a question of piston vs. rotary.

I never cared for the looks of the Scotts, but it was the only one I could get quickly for my SV. One thing I didn't like about the Ohlins was that the hardware they sent seemed cheap; the Allen heads seemed like they'd strip easily.

Easy to find and buy. |
