What is this thing?

Is this a common mod? I feel like I'm missing something.

Re: What is this thing?

Well, here's some of the "negative" feedbacks listed:

"This chip is a fake - does nothing. I'm getting the Power Commander instead."

"fake chip no performance BEWARE FAKE FAKE FAKE"
Reply by german_mod: Buyer never even paid for item. Mad I filed a Non-Paying Bidder with eBay.

"chip didn't work"
Reply by german_mod: Never told us of such a problem. Wouldve gladly help fix the problem. Email us.

here's a neutral feedback
"WACH OUT THIS SELLER IS A FAKE JUST A RESISTOR! VERY HARD TO INSTALL"

At first I thought this was something like the EMS that Yoshi makes for Suzuki. But personally I don't think that thing listed in the auction does anything

Re: What is this thing?

wow, thats pretty messed up

theres a whole shitload of feedback comments saying that its ok, but its the few of them that say "this is fake! don't buy!" that totally throw it off

turns out its just a resistor in a cheap plastic case with loosely connected wires... funny ****, this guy went to pretty big lengths

Re: What is this thing?

Yeah that is a pretty common ebay vehicle 'mod'. They have them for pretty much every kind of car too. Like sonofarex said, its just a resistor. All it does (at least in the car version, should be same for motorcycles) is put a resistor in the circuit, making the ECM think there is more/colder air coming in, which should increase fuel therefore increasing HP. All it really does is throw a service engine soon, or FI light at best.
