| Helmet cam on RC? I am thinking of hooking the helmet cam up for Grattan. I like the concept of putting it in a headlight but need to put the actual camera somewhere. Has anyone seen a setup before? Also down the road it will likely get track plastic so I loose the headlight any thoughts?
Thanks,
The Plotting Blue One

| Re: Helmet cam on RC? Can't help you with an RC51, but the trunk on my 929 works great for storing the camcorder. I ran the wiring for both front and rear cams, the LANC switch, and the forward/rear selector switch under the fairings to the trunk. The camcorder is protected from vibrations with several layers of foam rubber. The setup works pretty well...
edit: I mounted the forward cam underneath the headlight on the fairing, and the rear cam on top of the rear cowling. Dual-Lok tape works well at holding them in place. Let me know if you have any questions, Sheep.

Any tips on wires around the triples, I assume wire tires and run over center with some slack for turning? I should even be able to do some road time practice by putting it in the bright boot.

Just be careful when you run the wires that they don't get pinched or chafed and you should be fine. I tried to keep everything hidden by routing them behind the plastics and used a lot of zip ties. I'm going to play around with different mounting locations this year to get different POV's for some variety in footage (plus I want to see my suspension in action).

I shot a run through the Gap with Sheep's cam on my 929 last weekend and had it watching the front wheel... Pretty sweet! Ill post a bit of it up when I get it finished.

Chris | Does it include the blue lights incident?
