| Question about Forks I dunno what the heck I did, but I screwed something up! The pic was taken before the damage was done so the area in the green circle is what I'm referring to. I used a screwdriver to adjust the flat-head screw-like adjuster in the middle of the front fork and it (the adjuster) broke. Basically when I turned the screwdriver counter clockwise then clockwise for fine tuning it snapped off the tips that make up the flat head area where you put the screwdriver.
Anyway, it looks like hell and I need to replace the part. Does anyone know whta you call this paritcular part of the fork? Damn, this sucks. Looks like I'll be ordering from the dealer or Ron Ayers.

| Re: Question about Forks Well I might be the bearer of bad news.
The adjuster is part of the damper assembly.
From what I have noticed (See my post on Suspension Mod Mess Up)
you can not replace that part idividually. It is part of the whole and is $300 for the entire assembly.
Unless someone else knows more than what I have found out?
I too just bought forks off ebay to fix the issue.
If you had a 929 I would have an extra one.

| Re: Question about Forks some wanker listed his RC51 stock forks on ebay and removed the auction in less than a day because he sold them offline. No But It Now either, so it's a waiting game.
Thanks for the information. It's good to know how damn delicate these things are. I don't feel so bad knowing I'm not the only person who has done this.

| Re: Question about Forks You may not want to hear this, but I'm gonna have to break the bad news to you: It is part of the entire inner fork damping assembly. It'll cost you $260-$300. |

| Re: Question about Forks If you posted this on an RC51 forum, you'd probably have one by now. I'm sure there are several people who have them laying around. Give Thermosman a call, he may be able to score one on the cheap for you. |

Can you guys check the micro-fiche (click the link then you have to click Continue) and see if there is any part replacement other than the whole fork? It's a bit confusing.

| Re: Question about Forks If what you broke is the adjuster screw head in the center of the top of the fork, then you would need part #18. |

| Re: Question about Forks It is not a real quick fix. You will have to remove the fork to replace it.
Good time as any to put some fresh fish oil in the other fork as well since you will have to drain the oil to get the broken damper rod out.
