| Re: Wooly Onboard computer project Brown just arrived with the second part. This should keep me busy for a time. Notice the bottom of the GPS has a screw, I am considering mounting it in the nose if it can see through the track glass. The puck is also magnetic but that would not be a safe enough mount for track use.
Notice the attached photos this time

Notice the small size of these things, we truly live in an age of miracles. Time to get serious on case making and figuring mounting and such |
you paid a quarter for them?
I guess they have to make them so cheap cause most people would have no
clue what to do with them.

| Re: Wooly Onboard computer project OK I am debating on where to put the case (and GPS)
Case
#1 under the seat
Pros higher degree of protection from subframe, right by battery
Cons not a bunch of space and I put the cam in there now
#2 fairing nose
Pros more space, power from headlight circuit
Cons no metal protection in case of crash
GPS
#1 in nose
Not sure it can get adequate coverage through te fiberglass but it would be easy to drill the glass and mount it
#2 on the tail behind passeger sheep
Got to drill the ABS but should be OK. However there is a puck on top of the bike and it is exposed in a crash. Chin rest for passenger sheep
Both locations are easy as I have about 5' of cabling to work with.
Any opinions or ideas?

| Re: Wooly Onboard computer project It seems that location is going to be very important for the accelerometer. Even in a car, they are best mounted where the least amount of movement happens. Seems tough on a performance bike. |

Considered mounting it on a foam or silicone to damp some vibration from the silky smooth RC engine It would be easier to fasten the case in the front...
