Re: Guess the weight of my RC

The winner is....

NORTHERN RR

Runner up ReaperAZ
3rd goes to BDA116

The actual weight of one stock slip on was 9lbs 8oz of course the rule did specify lbs and oz so Northern RR is penalized and part of his gold bullion prize converted to prizes for 2nd and 3rd that will be announced after the Barber track day

Re: Guess the weight of my RC

OK prizes are picked up and I have some packaging, but...... any tips needed on shipping a small box from a home address to a home address via USPS? Is customs going to mess with it? Thanks.

Mark it as a gift or a warranty return and you should have no problems with it

Re: Guess the weight of my RC

Thanks guys, is that something I do on this side at the post office? Or do I just write on the box?

I am real green at this as work frowns on me associating with foreign nationals (not as much as in the past)

I not too long ago sold my Ohlins damper to a fellow .orger in Canada. I marked the package "gift" for this very reason. I also (of course) insured it - could this have caused the problem? Upon receiving it he emailed me and said they slapped a $100 customs duty on it. WTF?! I'm pretty sure the buyer was perhaps looking for me to meet him halfway or something, but I figure it was his/her responsibility to know that country's importation laws. At any rate, I felt badly about it, and it really sucks! "Caveat emptor"!

So, wet weight of the RC is around 458 (give or take quite a bit depending on mods), and I've seen many people post about the wet weight of their 954's being in the 425lb range, the RC really isn't that much heavier, wonder why everyone always says the RC is a pig

That was with slightly lighter rotors and basically stock.

Yes 33 lbs is huge but I can lose and easy 20lbs of wool then a 520 and lighter battery then I am close...

Doesn't matter much, I'm about 30lbs lighter than the average liter bike rider at the track. I've had a 600, a 929, and now my RC I've had for about 3 years now, 30lbs doesn't make a difference to me, except when I'm pushing my bike into my trailer

Yeah, now I'm really curious, I've got the 520 kit, lighter battery, magnesium wheels, etc, bunch of stuff, only two more months and I can weigh it
