exhaust trade

i am willing to trade almost brand new FMF pipes for a set of D&Ds if anyone is interested . the cans have less than 100 miles on them and are in perfect shape. they are way to quiet for me. some people love the way that they sound but im a die hard D&D man. the pipes are gold anodized aluminum and are probably one on the lightest cans that are made. they are spring mounted so the mid pipes will have to go also. they retail for 750$. i am willing to trade for a set of D&Ds that are maybe not even in perfect condition. the peformance of the pipes is outstanding but they are just to quiet for me. i like ridicukous loud pipes and these are not that. let me know. im even willing to consider a trade for cans that are comparable to D&D.

Re: exhaust trade

I just heard an RC51 with D&Ds the other day and while it was loud it sounded like crap. The bike just didn't sound like it was running right. Had some crackles and other weird noises. Stick with the FMF and just wait for the packing to blow out if you want it loud.

Good point. The decible level of pipes will rise some as they break in. Also, be on the look out for areas where law enforcment has a zero tolerance for any loud aftermarket canister. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Re: exhaust trade

anyone know any tricks to getting the packing out of the fmf pipes? the ends look as if they will come out but im not sure how the pipe is packed considering it goes from ovel to circular. i had D&D on my superhawk and they sounded better than any other bike i have ever heard. like i said, the fmf perform great, look great, and carry a good race name but are to gentle for my taste.ill take any reasonble offer for them

Re: exhaust trade

best advice to get the packing out is ride the hell out of it. the more miles the cans have on them the louder they'll be. trust me at just under 19k on my erion pipe its pretty damn loud.
