power commander probs

I recently got a powercommander for my rc51 Year 2000 its the PCIII serial port type, installed it all fine, hooked it up to the pc, etc etc map got sent to it fine. but the fuel light stays at the bottom, isnt this spose to move up and down as you rev the bike, my mates does but mine dont plus bike doesnt feel any different, actually twice today when sitting revving it, it made a lil blip type of noise and stalled. Please help me if you have this problem with the unit, is it something my end, or the actual unti faulty

Re: power commander probs

MarkLeonti mentioned in a previous thread that blipping the throttle and having the bike stall might be battery related:

Lurching and Stalling

Do you see the same behavior when the PC is disconnected? Is this the original battery? I was told the life span of an MC battery is 3 years...with a tender they can last longer - I have had them die in 2 years, and I have seen them last 5.

Sorry, can't help on the PC, My R6 has the USB version.

happy riding.
