| To V or not to V, that is the question (Yes, I realize what a sad and obvious pun attempt that way)
After nearly 3 months of being bikeless, I'm looking to get back into the saddle. I've owned, in recent days, all inline engines bikes (02' 954 and the 04 600RR). My wife bought an SV650s which I had the opp to ride a few times. Being a whore to the Honda world (whether justified or not) I am down to deciding between the RC51 and the Blade. To be frank, I wasn't terribly impressed with the SV (though who would be after only riding the 954 for the last two years) and wondered - what is the draw to the V-twins? I hear great things about the RC, but what is 'the' deciding factor for those of you that own them now? |

| Re: To V or not to V, that is the question I have both:
The RR is fun and a rush to ride. The cornering is very responsive but you also have to tell it where to go. The power is almost like a two stroke.
The RC is a blast also and less of a rush. The cornering is responsive but the RC likes to be put on a line and stay there. The power is so linear that he can be deceptive just how fast you are accelerating.
The RC is less comfortable for long distances in seating and vibration. The RC is taller also.
Neither is wrong but it is hard to describe how two liter bikes can be so similar and yet so different.
I got the RC for a track bike with the idea that if I decided to race it could fit in big twin or over 40 class (at the time there was no I4 novice liter class in WERA).

| Re: To V or not to V, that is the question well as for me the rc is better because of its handling. we also have a 1000rr, while it is fun to ride the rc feels much more stable and has a larger area of available power versus the rr, where you dont get any real power until you wind up the rpms and the acceleration is quicker than the rr. |

This bike is more aimed at being a track bike 60% of the time. I'm afraid I'm not used to not being able to split lanes anymore and would get a solid Texas boot up my butt if I tried |
