| Galfer lines with Brembo MC Not sure what the problem is as I'm sure this is a popular and common configuration. But I'm having issues here. I just tried installing the new MC and the new lines and when I went to bolt it up I ran into problems. The banjo at the MC won't torque down. It's bottoming out before it pulls everything together. I have a crush washer between the banjo, each line, and the MC (for a total of 3). What in the hell am I doing wrong here? Can I stack crush washers at the MC side to shim it out? |

| Re: Galfer lines with Brembo MC Thanks... Seems (after more searching) that I may need a shorter banjo. Both banjos that I have are the same length, but I guess that doesn't mean much! |

Yes, you can stack some extra crush washers between the m/c and the first line. I think you may only need one extra, but perhaps 2, depending on which crush washers you have.
Some people have cut the end down a bit, but that's a bit of a hassle whether you have the tools to do so or not. |

| Re: Galfer lines with Brembo MC It's been awhile, but I think the bolt that goes into the MC is a different pitch than the others 'cause it's Italian. I think the Brembos need a 1.0 and the other bolts are 1.25. ??? |

I didn't have issues with mine tightening, but it was a bit tricky to keep the lines in the right place. I also found I had to remove the damn thing to bleed it, as the lever hits the throttle housing, preventing the lever from being fully pulled in. Not an issue when braking, but it might be for proper bleeding. Hope you get the bolt sorted out! |

I said the pitch is fine (the 10x1 as opposed to the coarse thread pitch on the OEM RC51 Master, which is 10x1.25). But I also meant it is fine as in okay, since you were able to thread it in without stripping it out! |

| Re: Galfer lines with Brembo MC Thanks everyone... Wrapped the banjo in electrical tape, vice gripped it, and slowly ran it over a cutoff tool. I managed to keep it straight enough that the threads are all consistent. Cleaned out the fluid channel with a file. Threads in and lines up perfect! Feels kinda good doing machining on my own bike! |

| Re: Galfer lines with Brembo MC I'm thinking he meant the depth, too. However, Dan supplied me with the banjo bolt and it was a double, and the correct length. I mean, I assume it's a double. I have both brake lines attached with the one bolt, and I'm guessing I wouldn't have been able to bleed them if it was a banjo meant for a single line. |

| Re: Galfer lines with Brembo MC Heh, yeah, that's a "double banjo". Space for two line fittings and 3 crush washers. |

Double banjos work fine on PVM's without having to do that, since the hole is a few threads deeper. So yours should have worked without any issues...but we were talking about Brembos |

| Re: Galfer lines with Brembo MC Oh OK, I see what you're saying.
What are you doing playing with "exotic" braking systems and riding a Katana? |

B) See the 2nd post in this thread |
