RC51 Swingarm conversion

Has anyone every attempted to take a solo swingarm from a VFR Honda and put it on a RC51 SP2?

It may, not sure though. I do know a company that makes them for the RC though. www.ram.mc Cost is about $2100 USD.

Plus a special single-sided wheel that's a one-off by RAM, bringing the total for the upgrade to $4952! Of course, those are BST CF wheels, but still...

Would be cool as hell, but I'm not sure there's be much of an advantage. Besides the weekly Starbucks runs. Would there even be any weight savings with something like that? I would imagine the swingarm would be reinforced like crazy adding to the weight...

We all know that Starbucks is the main reason people mod their bikes.

There were a bunch of guy sback east when I lived there that had SSSA on their 900RRs, looked stupid.

Re: RC51 Swingarm conversion

The SS swingers are a bit heavier, but they do still serve a practical purpose in making servicing easier.

I'm fairly certain you can't get the VFR piece on the RC.

Nothing's impossible, but this is too difficult to be worthwhile IMO. Rear exhaust routing would be a problem.

If you are going to do that, I would buy one made for it so you dont mess up your steering geometry. putting a single sided swingarm on will already add weight, and change the gyroscopic effect which usually means it will pull to one side more than the other when you are "coasting"

Re: RC51 Swingarm conversion

Not sure how different it would be than a 929.
My friend did his with the VFR Swinger and its the shitz....
4 banger though.. Not sure how it would handle the RC's torque.. hehe
