| RC Sharkskinz Review OK so the skins are on. I give them 1/2
Good:
Good finish
Good fit
Predrill points nice and mostly accurate
Bad:
These require the kickstand be removed (I am lazy) they could be shaved t above the low point without reducing oil containment volume why not?
Some predrill points missing
Windshield fit is so so (Puig might get some of the blame)
Right side a bit long for the Dzus clips had to adjust a hole.
A drill mark not there was the front which is an important one
Overall though they went on decent with the Dzus clips being more of a problem than the Sharkskinz

| Re: RC Sharkskinz Review Left side if you get rid of the bit in front of the stand back to the dip. Also a small trim on the back you can leave the stand on the bike (maybe even operate it) Otherwise a decent fit, it would be nice it the outdent and exhaust cutout were further back.

Of course I have the snazzy (bling ) mirror plates from Baketech on mine however some folks run zip strips and I would not trust them alone.

Going to paint them? What color?
Send pics from Grattan. I wish things were going to work out for me to be there this year.
Even though I worked 7am to 5pm both days this weekend, I managed to squeak out 75 miles on my RC. Things are right in the world again........almost. |

Then still hunting a tank (blue). Then add a CF or black undertail and hugger.
I have not tried the CF lower I have yet to see if it will work with Sharkskinz. I wanted the clips and stuff to have a chance to set in before I pull the lower off.

| Re: RC Sharkskinz Review Looking good. I can't wait to see the final result with the colors you have in mind. Should be nice.
Are you going to put frame sliders on and drill your bodywork?
FWIW, the hole layout on my Skinz for windscreen seems to work great, for both OEM windscreen and two different ZG's. |

The windscreen isn't a bad fit just not perfect (check the photos you can see some gaps). Despite the gripe list being longer this is nice stuff to get a 3 1/2 hooves up.

The cutout is exactly right for the stock exhaust, just not your Akro system. I have found that mounting bodywork regardless of the manufacturer usually involves quite a bit of mockup and trial and error.
For example, AirTech's RC51 bodywork was molded from the HRC WSB glass and most people that purchased it had to do quite a bit of tweaking since the mounting points, radiators etc on the Superbike were way off for the retail version.
Your comments about the kickstand are sort of funny since you purchased a set of racing bodywork which precludes the use of a kickstand under any circumstances. |
