| Is there a comparison between the different RC51 years? Anywhere? I like the black 05, but I was wondering is there really any point paying for a new one, when the older ones are just as good, just not as nice color? Is there no 06 model? |

| Re: Is there a comparison between the different RC51 years? And considering that costs more than my brand new ZX-10R I would go the used route... |

| Re: Is there a comparison between the different RC51 years? shh.... calm down. It will all be oooookay.
I think it was '02-'03 that they switched, or at least around there... I'll let one of the resident RC experts cover that one. The differences were not many, but significant... swingarm and uhh... other stuff. |

| Re: Is there a comparison between the different RC51 years? Take your pic of color. They're all big, heavy, and slow.

| Re: Is there a comparison between the different RC51 years? The '05 is my favorite colour too. I bet you could beat the dealer up pretty bad on the price of a new one... I don't think they're in really high demand, especially considering they're discontinued in Canada. Plus you get to break it in yourself and you don't have some other guy's cheesy mods.
'02 and up is SP2, and people that know some **** (not me) say it's well worth going for the SP2. |

| Re: Is there a comparison between the different RC51 years? There is a pretty black one at Ron Ayers... but again... sticker is more than the bike I bought... You would think they would begin dropping the price on these... |

| Re: Is there a comparison between the different RC51 years? '02 through current is the SP-2, and is the same bike except for paint and stickers. That's why I bought a used 2002 for way less than a new one. If you find a good one, as I did, it's a great way to go.
All the feedback I got before purchase was that the SP-2 is far superior to the SP-1, both in handling and smoother throttle response. |
