Fork Oil level in forks

Hi, can anybody tell me fork oil level in forks or volume (level would be best).

Other question is oil level measured with out spring & fork full compression?

Fow which bike? Your avatar says VFR, but this is posted in the RC51 forum? The correct procedure is to measure from the top of the tube to the top of the oil with the springs out and the tubes collapsed.

The bike is a VFR, it just has RC51 front end

Do you know that measurement, that's what I'm after, have full workshop manual for VTEC, bit of a waste to buy one just to find out fork oil level for RC51 forks.

Okay, what year (or model SP1 or SP2) are the forks?

The manual for the SP1 states 135 mm. I am running 105 mm of Showa 5 wt racing fluid on mine, but that's for the track.

Thanks very much for that, they are SP1
(decreased your air gap to increase dampening more than your ajustments could do?)

Just out of interest is standard 5 wt, the VFR has a few extra kgs so going to start with standard setup & work from there (VFR standard forks are 43mm & use 10 wt & was using 0.9 springs)

Nope, damping is spot on, just helps to keep the nosedive to a minimum without having to crank in a bunch of compression damping. The 5 weight allows the forks to react faster to smaller bumps. The manual recommends Pro Honda Suspension Fluid SS-8.
