| More Tire Questions It's funny how life works out but since the deal on my RC fell through, life has taken a big turn for the better. It looks like it was meant to be, and the RC will be staying in my garage.
The only problem now is that over this past weekend, I put some miles on her and the rear tire definitely needs to be replaced.
Please check in with updated opinions/experiences on your tires. Although the RC won't see a track (at least on this set of tires) I'm willing to trade some mileage for confidence on the road.
I'm looking at:
- Pilot Power
- Diablo Corsa
- Metzler Sportec M1 (I don't know much about the tire, but I've always used and been happy with Metzler's)
Other recommendations welcome! |

| Re: More Tire Questions congrats on stuff turning around for ya and keeping the bike.
As far as the tires you're gonna get people saying good stuff about both the Powers and the Diablos. Haven't read much about the M1s, they seems nice from the ads but of course that really doesn't mean ****.

| Re: More Tire Questions Just ran Qualifiers for the first time on the RC.
Decent grip, seemed to heat a bit slower than Diablos. The mold release was much slicker than Pirelli. The jury is still out on long term wear as I only got a day on them. Grip was similar to the Corsas (may be a bit less but close)

| Re: More Tire Questions .........Leaning toward the Pirelli's. I can always try something else later.
After all, on the RC it's only about a 2,500 mile committment. |

| Re: More Tire Questions How many miles are people getting out of their powers? Mine are getting worn decently and I just put them on right before riding season. I do do a decent amount of track days, and am very hard on them there. People say I leave black lines coming out of corners. Don't flame me, damper is on the way... |

| Re: More Tire Questions Just bought a set of Qualifiers Medium compound. The D208's were just getting to slick. I can't compare to other brands. since they were out of michelin and the guy wanted to much for corsa's, but i can say WOW! these are way stickier than the 208's and have a much better turn in. I was bombing lost hill (buttonwillow) in 3rd gear with confidence. I definetly picked up the pace with these tires. I'll try the frenchies next time. Next trackday is the streats of willow june 2nd! |

| Re: More Tire Questions My friend has Pilot Powers on his SV, so I went with the Pirelli Diablo Corsa "H" that the shop had in stock just to be different. Good looking tire, I'll write more when I get some time to ride.
If it's ok to mention a non-sponser, SPEEDWERKS deserves some . Called them today, took the bike in after work, got in and out of the shop in about an hour. |

| Re: More Tire Questions Glad to hear you're staying in the RC fold!
I've been really impressed with the Pilot Powers if you want a street/trackday tire. They warm quickly, last a long time, are quite sticky, and give excellent feedback.
At my two most recent trackdays I ran the newer Metzeler Racetecs, and was very pleased. They definitely didn't warm as fast as the Michelins, but once they did, they stuck like glue. |

The RC is going to remain street only, but I wanted a relatively sticky tire. Hopefully the Pirelli's won't disappoint. |
