thanks in advance... | Yes - piston type for the 2000 & 2001 models. For 2002 and beyond, I'm pretty sure you'd have to go with the Scotts (made by Ohlins). |

| Re: Ohlins steering damper for the RC51 They used to, they no longer do. There was a problem with their fairing stay (Ohlins damper comes with its' own fairing stay) and they discontinued production. The Scotts works great for most people. |

| Re: Ohlins steering damper for the RC51 I have an Ohlins damper. There were several manufacturers of the mounts themselves. I have the Sprint mount, and it works great with the OEM fairing stay although clearances are tight getting her actually mounted... |

| Re: Ohlins steering damper for the RC51 I am running the full Sprint setup on mine and I like the Sprint damper better than the Ohlins. I had some issues with the Ohlins locking up and even though they rebuilt them at no charge, they would still occasionally lock (not fun at all). The mount works fine.

| Re: Ohlins steering damper for the RC51 Im looking for a piston top mount, 916 style, for my 2003 RC51/SP2. What is available, Ive seen only the Harris mount with Gubilinni (sp?) damper. My first choice would be Ohlins, but that just cause Im a squid...
Thanks

John | Go with the Harris Mount if you have to have a piston top mount. I know you can get them from EMA USA. Harris stuff is usually spot on.
The Scotts works excellent on the bike though and is $100 cheaper.
YMMV. |

actually the Nomad is self damping. They have perfected the lead weight theory of damping steering oscillations . . . |
