| 1/4 twist throttle kit Hey All,
Does anyone have any information on where I can find a 1/4 twist throttle kit for my 01 RC? I have been hearing lots about them, but can't seem to find one anywhere.
Thanks |

| Re: 1/4 twist throttle kit You must be referring to the 1/6 turn throttle... 1/4 is stock. It's an HRC kit, and you can find it in several places. Here is as cheap as any as there was a recent price increase... |

| Re: 1/4 twist throttle kit I thought they were 1/5 turn.
After exploring a lot of options, I got a 1/5 turn from a stock R6 for less than $20.00. It was a direct swap for the one in my SV, I'm wondering if it would work in other bikes as well. |

| Re: 1/4 twist throttle kit Interesting. I wouldn't mind doing this to my f4i. I hate having to twist the throttle so far back to go to full open. I'm sure it could be an issue when you are in a turn and hit a nice bump though.
didn't see one for the f4i on his site though. |

I have a 2004 R6 with two throttle tubes, and a 2000 SV and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to shorten up the wrist twisting action for racing. If I can pull something off my R6 and put it on my SV that'd be great, and do you know where you can get a 1/6 turn for the R6? |

ok so how do I make it 1/6, 1/7, etc? I want instant boosters.
I raced the R6 all year, shortening up the throttle more would be nice. Also looking at racing the SV next year what can I do to shorten that up? |

When I went from 1/4 to 1/6 turn, it was twicky as hell. You want instant on, turn your wrist.

Also looking at racing the SV next year what can I do to shorten that up? | I had read somewhere that a quick and easy way to quicken the throttle is to fill the groove in the stock throttle tube with RTV (or something similar) to push the cable farther out in radius ... thus quickening the pull. I'm assuming you don't want to fill the groove completely or the cable could fall off the side, but a little might help. If you get fancy, you might be able to change profiles that way too. Just a thought, never looked into it myself. |

For that you have to completely rewire the connector for the throttle side wiring. I had a couple of pics of it awhile back that were deleted when the site got converted a few years ago.

Of course it would only get you down the road a mile or two before it would burn out also.

I was running 15/45 when I switched to the 1/6 turn the night before AFM school. It took the entire weekend to get used to it. When you're all the way leaned over and have to modulate the throttle in first gear, it gets scarry. That's when I decided that first gear is for starting. You need to gear the bike so you don't have to click it into first while actually racing.

My favorite are the RC51's. I don't think a single one of them has finished ahead of me in any of the races I've been in this year. |
