| Re: deadly crash (video) Just saw this on the local news last night, some crazy ****! From watching the video it looks like the RC51 hits some uneven pavement and goes into a high speed wobble (Guess he had no damper)
Godspeed to the rider and the driver he killed!
As a side note, this accident happened in March and the video was just released by police after the trail ended.

| Re: deadly crash (video) Looks like the REAL cause of the crash was a wicked huge pot-hole, not speeding or stunting. Maybe those responsible for keeping the roads in good condition should be charged for the deaths instead. |

That fact that it was likely his first ride of the year probably did not help.
Either way, it does not cast a positive outlook on the sport. |

| Re: deadly crash (video) My God - that sucks big time! When are people going to learn to take the race to the track and not on public roads. Especially older, less maintained streets?! I don't think he had a damper either - feel sorry for the family.

are you serious? if he wasn't going that fast that pothole would have just hurt his nuts a little but he most likely wouldn't have gone into a huge tankslapper.

The pothole was the cause of the headshake. Just making a point. |

Driving too fast for conditions, ignoring safe conduct, and likely without adequate training and knowledge (or he wouldn't be out there doing that) are all the rider's personal choice. At the speeds listed (video wouldn't play for me, so going by the article) even if a driver turned left in front, it would still be the rider's fault because it is in excess of what would be reasonable for even a cautious driver to predict or account for.
I'm sorry for the victim and the rider's family. Definitely not worth saving the $150 to go to a track. |
