2000 rc51 p.a.i.r. mod

what an amazing gain. from super exciting to almost unimaginable thrust. took a buddy and me 2.75 hours to do that damned mod. at least it was only 95 degrees F. in the shade. WON'T DO THAT AGAIN / FOR ANYONE.

Yeah, the PAIR removal won't affect performance.

something, SOMETHING has improved this bike, way quicker to open up...

Your "Ass-Dyno200i" is set too sensitive. Neither mod increases any HPs worth even mentioning.

The PAIR mod removes weight and reduces backfiring. The Airfilter mod might increase airflow to some degree, on a bike that already gets ample amounts of intake air.

But if it makes you love your RC51 even more, that's all that counts. Mine runs better after an oil change and a wash.....

Maybe you rode it at night or on a cooler day and it actually was a little peppier . . .

now THAT i can attest to.....ive noticed on a nice brisk day its like riding a whole different machine almost feels like you added 10HP or so....the big snorkel in the front LOOOOOVES to suck in cold dense air....

Re: 2000 rc51 p.a.i.r. mod

I'll buy that for a buck......... Most bikes run better in cold, dense air.

Especially in 45-50 degree weather, when the fuel is nice and cold as well.

Doing your flapper mod/soft rev mod and removing the air deflectors in the airbox *might* get you a few (1-2) ponies in the top end, and gets rid of that 3500-6K bog. The soft rev mod also gets you another 1K in RPMs and an HP or 2.

Removing the PAIR system helps you lose about 3 lbs, gives you a true A/F reading at the pipes, and stops the constant backfiring out the pipes.
