| Is time running out? hey guys, i happened to stumble upon this site and since you all seem like pros, i figured i would ask kind of a dumb marketing question, which my local honda dealer couldnt really answer.
I am seriously thinking of buying an 2006 RC51, but as of now, i really dont have the cash to buy one. I work part-time(damn school!), and im estimateing by the summer of 07/fall of 07, i will have enough cash to purchase and to start financing the bike. My main question is that i heard that Honda discontinued production of the RC51, and i am wondering how long new ones will remain in the dealerships and such (my dealer didnt even know). I mean, i look on hondas site, and I can see that they still exhibit 05 models of bikes, and so i would think that brand new RC51s wont become extinct, but I am not sure :\ which is why i am here. By looking at the time-frame above, do u guys think brand new RC51s will still be available to order by the summer of 07/fall of 07?
thanks |

Especially if on a limited budget, it's the way to go - more $$ for mods! |

| Re: Is time running out? If there's cash shortage, just buy a used one and save a couple of bucks. 06's aren't any better than 04's and 05's.
edit: everyone seems to be posting the same idea. |

| Re: Is time running out? Yeah, getting a used one sounds like its the right idea, but I mean my '82 kawasaki doesnt have much life left in it and at least if i were to get a new one, i could pay over time, dont know how fast i could scramble up the cash to pay up all at once, even if it is a cheaper bike. |

As Kowboy posted, $11k for a new one and you get to pay lots of money in finance charges. Or you you get a good used one, with some goodies in the $6k range, you start out $5k ahead. Even if you do end up financing it, at a higher rate because it is used, you will likely come out further ahead buying used.
There are plenty of good RC's out there, getting very few miles each year, so I wouldn't worry about dealerships having on in a year or so.
Good luck with school |
