Advice --- Used RC51 -- buying

Hey all...
I'm looking at buying a used 2003 RC51....
The bike has 11,000 miles on it and the looks amazing.
Cosmetically it is just about flawless.....
I was wanting some advice on what I need to have done to the bike service-wise once I take ownership? What are some things I should do right away (change engie oil, filter, adjustments, etc.).
Also -- Is there anything I should look for before I but the RC51 mechanically speaking?
Thanks for any help
TJ

Re: Advice --- Used RC51 -- buying

I just came home with mine 2002 w/ 5900 miles , cleannnnnn !!!!!!! Ive been looking for a month, trying to be very choosy !! If you DIDNT buy it yet and its all through email at first, get hi res pics from all sides of the bike. Had a guy not send me all sides, turned out it was dropped on one side with damage showing. If you DID buy it already , do the norm, check the oil color , how it idles , sounds and pulls from diff rpms. You can always take it to the shop for an inspection/tune-up !
Good luck !

Re: Advice --- Used RC51 -- buying

First thing I did was change all of the fluids.. Oil, Coolant, Brakes (Fr & Rear), and Clutch.. Better o be on the safe side since you don't know exactly what was done previously. Another good thing to do, pull the plastics and just check on everything.

Once you do the basic checks, there are plenty of small / cheap mods that can be done to help improve the RC. But I say first get to know the bike, then start doing work on her.

Good Luck
