?Cold? weather

Is there anything I should look at getting done before the big Texas
winter kicks in?

Also, should 50 degree weather make the bike such a hard starter, even w/ the choke pulled?

And lastly, any recomendations on cleaning stained rims? They are powder coated grey.

THanks

Re: ?Cold? weather

My bike starts well at 0F. You should have no problems in Texas. Just be sure not to kill the engine with the choke on the first minute. The spark plugs get rather wet below 10F and accidently dumping the clutch to kill your engine could make your morning fustrating.

personally, I dont ride in the cold, cant stand it when I have a car. *shrugs* But I do start her up and let her warm up and ride around the block or so about once a week just to keep everything kosher

50 degree weather is relatively cold but shouldn't cause issues with your battery unless it sits for weeks or months without being run. However, starting the bike, letting it warm up and driving around the block is not enough to get a good charge in the battery. If you're going to let it sit, get a Battery Tender and keep it hooked up.

Re: ?Cold? weather

If its in the 40s Im out riding 50s would be great starting and only riding short bits is worse on the battery your not replacing what you used to start it. If it sits get a battery tender
