| Finished paint Ok well today I finally was able to get the bike back together. I finished installing my Ohlins shock, modified my subframe, moved all electronics to the left side of the bike, installed my HRC race harness, installed a new mini billet rear reservoir, and of course put on the freshly painted plastics. I still need to color-sand and buff the plastics so these are just a couple of pics that I shot tonight. When im done with the buffing I will take better pics and put up some of the progress to. Thanks go out to everyone who helped and a big thank you to Crash for coming up with this design Idea. Oh I do have a queston for anyone whos has done the HRC Race harness, What do I need to do to get my Speedo to work? The tach and everything works but the speedo. Thanks again.

| Re: Finished paint this is the design Crash came up with.....And you will notice that the tank and the upper does not line up very good right? Well thats because the tanks is not bolted down and the upper bracket is not installed, It will line up when its all tightend down

| Re: Finished paint its an 03, I pollished the frame about 3 years ago and now that Im goint to be racing id rather have more of a suttle finish so I went to my local paint/body shop and bought som "00" grade scoth brite pads and went to town. Its actually easy after you strip off all the black coating. |

| Re: Finished paint I took it all apart, you dont want to get any aircraft stripper on the plastics and you dont want to scratch up your stuff. you could just take off all the plastics and prop up the tank and cover it. After stripping the black off you will have more controll with the scotch pad. I would actually sand the frame down with 800 to clean is up first, then hit it with the pad. |

| Re: Finished paint the better results would come with a completely bare frame, but it would be possible to "tape" off sections you do not wish to be painted while leaving engine, etc intact.
i will be doing the latter during this winter as well. |

| Re: Finished paint As far as the paint goes I did pull everything off and paint them seperatly but you have to lay out your design with the bike together. Now the fame work is done with everything on but it is better if you remove everthing...just cover up everything that you dont want to damage. |

| Re: Finished paint It came together really sweet, I love the raw look of the frame. When is the vinyl going on to mach the previous design? How many hours does it take to do the frame start to finish? |

| Re: Finished paint The frame only took about 2hrs but it was already polished before and that took about 20hrs to do. Its a very tedious and dirty job but well worth the results.
Thanks again for all the great replys. |

| Re: Finished paint Here is the new one after the crash! hope ya like it, I've gotten good at this paint thing and will be getting a booth set up. I will be more than happy to do some paint work for some of the .org members for a very fair deal.
