| '01 Upper cowl stay on '06? Hello, I'm a newbie to the RC51 world so please pardon my ignorance until I can get up to speed. I need to replace a bent upper cowl stay on my '06. I would prefer to use the cowl stay from the earlier generation, '00-'01, because it's black which matches the new bike better than the silver. Are these parts interchangable between the two generations? Am I correct that the '00-'01 cowl stay is black? Thank you. Tom | |

 | Re: '01 Upper cowl stay on '06? I would just sand it down and paint it, and you could have your local paint shop mix up the oem color in a rattle can so it would truely match! As far as the two being interchangeable, they should be due to the fact that they havent really changed the body on the bike. I would get the right part just to be on the safe side and paint it.IMO |

| Re: '01 Upper cowl stay on '06? they are the same but the 00-01 stay is a smaller diameter tubing. and yes they are in fact black...how bent up is yours? is it repairable? if it isnt to bad off ill swap ya mine as i like the silver ones better, but thats cause i have an 01. |
