| SP2 The best! Hey Guys
From school days I was a I4 guy. Last year I bought myself an Aprillia RSV1000 mille. Then I realised how nice VTWINS are! I had it for 2months before I wrote it off(Head on crash). I always had an Eye for the SP1/2.
It took me about 3 months to find one. SP2 '03 8500miles stock standard for $9350 UK spec(Bikes are very expensive in South Africa).
The gearing was 15/42. It was too short so I geared it back to 16/40.
I took it for a dyno run. 122Hp and 93Nm of Torque! Nice for stock standard.
My to run was when we went to the east on a Weekend run. 295km/h(184m/h) . I had the fastest bike on the run! bye bye R1 and Mille!
My next upgrade is a pair of Yoshimuras low mount and get motor gas flowed/skimmed.
I'm probably the first South African on this RC51 thread? |

No gun, but it comes with flame throwers and tear gas for muggers and Hi-Jackers! Joke, but on serious note we put low Jacks on our bikes!
Hey FirebladeToronto Bru. What's up in the the States?
Fl, remember we're far down here supposedly in the middle of nowhere.

| Re: SP2 The best! My Afrikaans sucks...considering I left SA when I as six. Living in Canada now, but have been back a few times.
Must suck going riding this time of the year....sweaty in them leathers!!
Must also suck that the MotoGP does not come to SA anymore.
Well, at least you have the world cup to look forward to.
Enjoy the SP...I was thinking of getting the 05/06 black one myself. As soon as I sell the three bikes in my garage....and find a boat full of money.
Welcome to the board!
If I move back to SA, I would definitly bring a hand full of bikes with me, instead of buying locally. |

Hey, why don't we start importing them right now? | Get me some customers, with Cash, and I will start sending them.
What do you want? Duc? Honda? Yamaha? Harley? I know the friggin Hummer H1 sells for like 1 Million Rand. (About $140K USD).
I was already looking into it, but wonder it the market is big enough in the SA? |

But why post reality when the speedo gives a better number to brag on | I did 184 on the speedo at around 9900rpm which is if you use the RC51 Gear calculator in fact is 176.2mph. 4% speedo error. http://members.aol.com/mwheele/RC51GearingCalc.xls ROGUE RC51 Common Gearing
The top runs was done on a highway with no wind/traffic. Perfect conditions!
We have great highways in SA!
I'm not bragging but really impressed with the capabilities of the RC51
On these top speed runs I went faster than '05 Mille Arrow PIII and '01 R1 Yoshis+Cams. Their clock read the same as mine.
My next upgrade is Yoshis slip on's. After saving some money (after spending $9350 on a second hand RC!) I'll do the motor! Cams, Skim and gas flow. Any suggestions? |

You really need to know your bike's error because there are many factors, including tires and speed, etc. Magazine tests with radar guns and conditions as you noted, with a small rider who knows how to tuck in, had top speed in the 162-164 range. Not saying you aren't getting better, but it is enough difference to question. Air density might be helping you if you are at sea level with cooler temps. |
