Triple Tree Nut / Top Yoke Nut

Hi
I'm trying to get to the air filter but there is a damper and fitting kit in the way. So far I have removed the damper and the harris screen brace. Now I have to remove the damper fitting kit which is fixed to the tree / top yoke via a nut in the middle of the yoke - about 41mm.
I need to remove this nut - question - will this affect the setting of the head bearing? Is it safe to remove? When re-installing what torque should it be tightened to?
Sorry for the questions.
Thanks
Craig

Re: Triple Tree Nut / Top Yoke Nut

I have removed mine a couple of times (mine is a 30mm nut). Torque valuse is 76 lb/ft or 103N/m.
It shouldn't affect the headstock bearings

The torque is 101 ft lbs, for an SP2...... (76 lbs is for an SP1)

It won't effect the head bearing adjustment at all.
