High mounts

Picking up an RC is getting closer, and the one I am looking at has stock pipes, so the first things to be done will be a PCIII and pipes. I love th elook of highmounts, but often ride with a girl on the back (leave squid poser whatever comments out of here). I have seen the Micron (I believe) M4 pipes with the passenger pegs still on and liked them, but what kind of sound do they make? I like a real deep throaty sound.

So the question is who makes good high mount pipes with a throaty sound that run behind the passenger pegs without having to space the pegs out?

I am not worried about the power I will loose with the highmounts, if I do track days I will never race (Already race quads, much cheaper)

Re: High mounts

I'd stick with the microns, it's not really going to matter what you put on it cause it's a v twin and it's already pretty damn throaty, just changing out the stock pipes with aftermarket you will notice a hug difference, so IMHO stick with Micron

Re: High mounts

M4 makes some pretty nice high mounts that keep the pegs, I have a custom high mount set up that will be for sale soon, its a sato-akrapovic set up but im going to change for low mounts so I have more foot room. Good luck, like Atreyu said they all have a very deep sound so its really going to come down to appearance and peg location. I had Micron high mounts and I had to remove the pegs so I would double check on that one. Im sure someone has a set of peg relocators for Sato and Moriwaki set ups if you want those. IMHO if you plan on rideing a passenger you should stick with low mounts that way your rider isnt getting their legs roasted while on the back, and you will actually produce a lil' more HP with low mounts.

Re: High mounts

I'm thinking of selling my Sato Banzai Titaniums if I don't find a trade deal for Sato Low Ti Ovals and Ti hangers package.
PM me for pics if interested...
