Brake light stays on?

My brake light stays on anytime the keys are on. i have checked all fuses and wires, i assume my bulbs are good, so i guess all thats left is the switch or relays. Sound right? Suggestions?

Re: Brake light stays on?

Check the rear brake switch and see if it needs adjusting. It doesn't take much movement of the rear brake to activate it.

Re: Brake light stays on?

Try disconnecting the front switch and then the rear switch to see if you can isolate (or eliminate) the possible fault.

Re: Brake light stays on?

the rear on my F4i has an electrical connection to it that you can just unplug to deactivate the switch (probably the front too just not at the handle that I see)... Probably the same with the 51.
If so no tools needed, just unhook the connectors

Re: Brake light stays on?

Try the front brake switch. The one on my RC51 failed on Saturday.....the brake lights were on until I pulled the front brake, then they went off (including the rear tail light)

New brake switch (10 minute job to switch over) and all was OK.

You can check the switch with a continuity tester....you should have continuity when the front brake lever is pulled...

HTH
