  | How rare are new '06 RC51s at dealerships? I'm going out shopping tomorrow to (hopefully) find a new leftover '06 RC51. I am expecting the dealers to try to sell me whatever they have on the floor, RC51 or not. So before I get my hopes too high I was hoping to find some feedback from you guys/gals. They're not going to sway my decision to buy something else, unless of course no one around here has any. TIA | |

| Re: How rare are new '06 RC51s at dealerships? Not sure about Indy, but here in SoCal they have pretty much been gone for a while now as far as I know. A guy that I work with was looking about 6 months ago and didn't find any new '06 RC's. He ended up with a really nice '04 Nicky Hayden though... |

 | Re: How rare are new '06 RC51s at dealerships? Your best bet is Dryer. The main shop on Washington street would be the best bet. The Southside Dryer isn't nearly as large. Other than that, your only option is the dealership on 96th near Keystone. They are more of a Harley shop than Honda but it's worth a shot. There's also a dealer in Noblesville but I've never been there. |

| Re: How rare are new '06 RC51s at dealerships? Dryer, Honda North, and Noblesville Honda were my first 3 choices. I've never done business with either though. I thought about just calling around but I figure they'd be more apt to blow me off on the phone than in person. JBAXX I hoping I have a better chance in Indiana than what you've said in California since we don't have quite the motorcycle season as you have. Regardless, all I can do is try. If not my next big decision will be choosing between a possible used RC51 or buying an '07 CBR1000RR. Not that the RR is a compromise by any means, but the RC just has so much more character. |

| Re: How rare are new '06 RC51s at dealerships? Well, no luck today. No one had any and the guys at Noblesville said they haven't seen one since January. They did work out a pretty good deal on a leftover 1000RR though ($9099 + TTL). |

| Re: How rare are new '06 RC51s at dealerships? Do a check on the Honda site for dealerships in a radius of your locations, then call the out of the way ones. That is how I found mine in 2000 when "everyone" had sold out. Called a shop out in cruiserland and made a good deal. Better than driving to all of them. |

There was a blue & yellow one too, which was bought within an hour of my purchase, that I thought long and hard on getting instead. They had a Repsol model but wanted way too much for it - $12,500. |

| Re: How rare are new '06 RC51s at dealerships? Ugh, I'm a little peeved now. A shop not 4 miles from me had a leftover '05 on the floor. I had stopped in today out of boredom and spotted it right away since it was right by the front door. Its been demo ridden (47 miles on the clock), and quite honestly I thought it was used cuz of how filthy it was. I had initially e-mailed the shop and got no response so I decided to call them the day I bought my 1000RR and was told they haven't seen an RC in months. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Its more my fault than theirs and I should've known better. Besides, I can't really knock my purchase at all. They were asking $9800 for it. Is it just me or is that a little steep? |
