| eBay blows So, there was an auction for the solo seat cowl type 2 for an 02 SP2. I need one so I figured I would watch it. I bid up to sixty, plus the guy wanted 18 shipping (extorted). It sold for $82.56...
A new one with all the screws, gaskets, etc is $93.13 from Ron Ayers, plus 8 bucks shipping. People are out of their minds bidding. Theres just no common sense. We all suffer.
Whew! Done ranting, time to place an order. My local shop is only a few bucks more, so I'll spend my money in town. eBay Motors: HONDA RC51 RVT1000 REAR COWL TARGA stock 01-06 (item 170120311513 end time Jun-15-07 11:34:12 PDT) |

| Re: eBay blows You're not lucky lol... oh sorry I am watching a tv show on lucky and unlucky people. haha.
I've had good buying experiences with ebay.. I just don't bid if the price goes beyond what i want to pay. I just bought a full exhaust system for my bike for $70 to replace my bent exhaust. I've had hundreds of good buys like that off ebay. |

| Re: eBay blows Ebay cam be silly sometimes, i was cleaning out my garage a few years back and found a rebuild kit for clutch linkage, plus a new clutch rod for BBody & EBody Mopars. You could still get them new from Mopar Performance for about $60. Goofballs bidded then up to over $80. DUH |

| Re: eBay blows If you wish to win something on ebay, you don't want to bid on it until the last second. If you bid ahead of time, you just give others the opportunity to outbid you. When doing auctions manually, I never bid on an item until there is about 5 seconds left in the auction. When I can't do it manually, I use AuctionStealer - FREE online auction site sniping software esniper ebay snipe site e snipe auctions ebay auction sniper site bid sniper free auction
It's won me many, many auctions. Since I don't do a ton of ebay work, I don't pay for auction stealers subscription, I just use their free service. It rocks. |

| Re: eBay blows i feel you brother!though i have gotten a couple of good deals but most of the time you can get the item locally for close to the same amount and usually will receive it much faster.though i did just score a rear Ohlins shock for my SP2 for $670 plus $25 shipping.cant beat that and surprisingly super fast shipping.its just a roll of the dice,so keep the option open. |

| Re: eBay blows ass? I was merely saying I find good deals on ebay and never have problems there.
Hope you find what you're looking for and have a good day.
Actually I did get a decent deal on this exhaust.. a new one is over $700 from Honda. I was just saying good deals can be found on ebay. Not everything that comes up on ebay is a good deal as you found out with the seat cowl part. I've found plenty of bad or not so great auctions on ebay.. i just don't bid and i stay away until someone else has what i want or need for the right price.
If I was trying to be an a_s, I would have told you I have a seat cowl for my bike but don't use it, it's new. |

I never called anyone an ass. Websters primary definition for asinine is extremely foolish. The second definition is resembling an ass, and as we have never met, I dont think I can correctly use that particular definition. I just get tired of the Holier than thou answers that people try to post when it is obvious that I was attempting to make a point that people on eBay lose their minds and ruin the fun for everyone involved.
Again, hope you were not offended. Apparently several people here were.
And if you were offended, stay away from the SV sites. They are brutal to one another. |

| Re: eBay blows It's alright. I understand partially what you were saying about people bidding too much for some items that sell on ebay. I have seen people pay retail and couple times more than retail price. Those are the people that did not do their homework or have money to waiste. |
