exhaust/rear sets for passenger

i recently bought a used rc 51 with after market micron exhaust already on it... but what im wondering is, how come the exhaust is mounted higher on mine then ive seen stock or even other after market exhaust systems. they way my exhaust is mounted there is no room for rear sets to be mounted, im currently living in orlando and being able to give rides is a must if you know what i mean! any info on suggestion or anything at all would be a big help, thanks guys!

Re: exhaust/rear sets for passenger

you have high mount pipes. Most high mounts eliminate the rear pegs on the RC51. M4 pipes are the only 'out of the box' ones that do not. I posted a picture of my bike on the thread "questions from a newbie" this morning, take a look I also have high mounts but have retained the pegs. Now the kicker is my pegs were custom modified and will not fold in, but like you I enjoy riding my wife on occasion and need the pegs. Your best solution would be to find a set of original pegs and mounts, then take the tail plastic off and make some custom brackets to get them to fit. Try and browse the web for some pictures of other bikes, this will give you an idea of how they should mount. Otherwise you are going to have to buy new pipes which is a waste of money.

That is a nice bike, who did he yellow on the fairing stays - looks good. As far as the pegs I still think you can sqeeze them in but you will have to make some custom brackets. Take a look at this website - the guy did the exact same thing with pictures. Go to 'modifications' then choose 'pillions'. this may actually walk you through the process.
