| New 05 owner seeking advice Hello friends, My name is George. I just got 05 rc 51 with only 1.5k miles on it . I wanted to get more information as to the best bang for the buck performance modifications for the bike. My riding habits are mainly street-tour and slight track days. I just got some Kevlar lines from a forum member. I was thinking on the following upgrades 1. 15t sprocket 2. High mount exhaust. 3. USB power commander. Please inform me if I am going in the correct direction or re-evaluations are needed. I thank you for your advice, George from Pasadena,

| Re: New 05 owner seeking advice Your going in the right direction there, dont forget the free mods, pair valve removal, flapper mod. also look into soft rev mod.
The exhaust will help with eye candy along with a rear hugger, flush mount turn signals and clean up the rear section. |

| Re: New 05 owner seeking advice I think the best eye candy is a bike that is well taken care of and not overdone on pointless mods. A nice exhaust, cleaned up rear end, and steering damper. All mods that have both form and function.

| Re: New 05 owner seeking advice Dude, that bike, as it came from the showroom floor, is SO DAMN MUCH MORE CAPABLE than you are as a rider, or than I am, or anyone on this forum, that any mods you make will be pointless tossaways of money. Spend your money on the best gear you can find. Armored gloves, jacket and pants, proper boots with ankle protection, a SNELL rated full face helmet, and make sure you wear all that gear for every stinking ride, even around the block!!! |

gear is #1 in my book. get what you can afford, try to stay away from iicon, joerocket, jordan, etc. as they are more for looks than protection... after gear id go for the free mods, frame slider, PC3, exhaust. and then just whatever you have your heart set on |
