Stomp Grips & Steering Dampner Q's

Hey all, just doing some pre-RC-owner shopping and building my wish list...

i noticed that the Stomp Grips website shows a fitment for '03 to '06 RC51's but doesnt say anything about the '02 models

is the tank different between the '02 and newer years?

StompGrip Traction Pads

on to the Steering Dampner...
My now-sold gsxr 750 had a stock steering dampner that did it's job a couple of times... with the increase in power i was surprised to not see a stock dampner on the RC.... is it recommended to add one? or no problems with your bikes as of yet?

Thanks!

2002 and up RC51's are the same bike. I recently purchased a Matris damper but haven't installed it yet. Scott's dampers are very popular. Check out RC51.org and RC51.com for lot's of info.

regarding the steering dampner, are you getting one for precaution, or cause you've had a tank slapper or close to one?

Re: Stomp Grips & Steering Dampner Q's

I've had one tank slapper under hard acceleration on a bumpy road. Completely my fault and was able to ride it out but I'd rather be safe. A lot of people consider a damper an essential piece of safety gear. The RC51 is known to be a very stable bike though.

Stomp grips fit too. I have a set on my 01 and they are great.
