| Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51?? If I have a little fun, I get about 80 to 90 miles before the light comes on. The later RC51's have a larger tank, the main portion is ever so slightly bigger, the reserve is 1/3 larger as well. |

I haven't heard that before...
I'm from Europe and my SP1 goes from 7 to 10 liters for 100 kilometers, depending on the 'fun' factor |

| Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51?? I have been tracking my milage for about the last 20 tanks of fuel and I am averaging approximately 6.75L/100km. I get from 220 - 240km per fill and it usually takes 14 - 15L. That's 34-35mpg. I ride every day, rain or shine about 45mi mostly freeway. I tend to cruise at about 120kph (75mph) at about 5000rpm in 5th.
FYI, in case anyone's interested. |

| Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51?? Oops, I didn't know that having the caps lock on meant that I was being an a$$, wont let it happen again , thanks for the heads up , I just might have to look into a CBR 1000 in the spring |

| Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51?? Does your RC51 have any mods? Seems like my fuel light comes on at 100 miles also on my 071KRR... Why would you want to get rid of it so soon? |

| Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51?? At 100 miles per tank, you can't do much of a road trip without stopping for gas at every other station.. It has a PCIIIr, it's running the Erion pipes, the pair mod and the flapper mod have been done, it has a GPR steering dampner, it has an undertail kit but needs some more modifying to fit properly. The battery tray is sitting down, I think I am going to have to make up a bracket and suspend the battery. Any suggestions?? |

| Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51?? The reply that MONSTERTWIN gave is pretty much spot on. If you ride hard with some soft cruising in between you should get around 140 miles and at that point you will be pushing it home. |

| Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51?? Ive got a 954RR, the light comes on normally just over 105-110 miles - ive got about 130 miles out of it before the light comes on, but i always go and find a fuel station.
I play quite hard, but sometimes i like to relax and enjoy the ride - anyone know what i should be expecting from a 1998 VFR800FI Pre Vtec?
Thanks |

| Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51?? RC mileage is heavily influenced by throttle. Not only how much but how smooth. I get mid 20's on the track and in the small amount of road riding it has done mid to high 30's. If you are hammering it out of every corner try rolling it on a bit more (also a better technique) |
