you can see them pretty good by the rear cowl cover in this photo http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photo...C51c-small.jpg |

| Re: Knobs on Tail Piece? Ah, the "frankenbolts". Who knows? If you have a passenger seat and want to strap something to it, they make good bungee hooks. I removed the ones on my 929 and replaced them with more attractive bolts. I used fairing bolts from a Blackbird, actually. Plus I kept wacking my knee/shin on them. |

| Re: Knobs on Tail Piece? Ya, there just there for something to hook to if you need to strap down saddlebags, trunk bag, squid helmet, whatever. There not really anything else to use, Honda just tries to give you some kind of hope... |

| Re: Knobs on Tail Piece? the knee-buster bolts...when you hit them, it feels as though someone has stucka crow-bar under your knee-cap and tried to pry it off... |

| Re: Knobs on Tail Piece? holy crap do you ever want to wear long pants on this bike.. note to self not to ever come close to the exhaust or frame again once that thing is up to operating temperatures.. the accounts of people saying this thing is a slow cooker is completely truthful only if you're in gear.. otherwise it'll give you a nice sear in the blink of an eye.
thanks for all the responses. |

| Re: Knobs on Tail Piece? Yep, I think the Frankenbolts are for strapping small cargo items down to the seat. I didn't want those on my bike, so i replaced them with other bolts that are short. |

| Re: Knobs on Tail Piece? i lost one once, so i went to my local shop and they had to order one but i needed it NOW and they robbed one off the bike sitting on the showroom floor and then when mine came in they just replaced it, course, they take really good care of me there. no to mention when they sold 25 PWC's in one weekend and could get them built fast enough, being the good friend that i am. i went in on a saturday and helped put about 10 of them together so they ate the cost of the bolt.
speaking of changing them, what thread are they? i may run and pick up some bolts from lowes. or see if i have anything here at work |
