2003 SP1? Umm... I thought the SP2 came out in 2002 so the 2003 model would be an SP2 and not an SP1...

Either way.. SP1.. SP2.. great bikes and lots of fun to ride. My mate has a Suzuki SV650 and I let him have a shot on my SP2.. at first he was a bit nervous but in no time he was loving it and said if he ever bought a sports bike he would get the SP2.

Mods? hmm... Double bobble screen, get that wind off your cheast and shoulders. I was looking at Akrapovic pipes for my bike.. when I saw the cost I thought forget it! For a few extra BHP it wasnt worth the cost I think, unless u can get some second hand in good condition.

Also

ROGUE RC51 Owners Group of United Enthusiasts

Then look down the left hand columb and look for "mods". Its got ALOT of info regarding FREE mods and its also got reviews and comparisons on alot of available parts, aswell as where u can buy them!

Personally... id say grab this!

Im SOOO getting one of them! Tidies the back up nicely.

Re: Greetings from Scotland

I was in Edinburgh in the spring of this year- damn good scotch!!!

Steering damper should also be on the shopping list. Braided brake lines are a good idea. I mounted Leo Vince pipes on the bike with removable baffles, it is worth going to pipes that give you a choice of sound, there is also a noticeable response in lower fueling/performance.
I agree with chrisr1982edin- Rogue is a good site to check things out. there is a section that details the removal of the flapper valve, easy instructions to follow and an improvement that costs nothing.

Re: Greetings from Scotland

Flapper valve removal is deffinately worth a look. Alot of people say it could damage your bike BUT the fact is that the USA versions (RC51s) dont come with the flapper valve! Only the EU ones do! Something to do with noise reduction, and it also chokes your engines airflow, or so im told! So if you remove it your bike gets alot more airflow through the motor. You may wana get a power commander if you havent allready got one.
