| 190 vs 200 Rear Tire Anyone have a pic or link to a RC with a 200 rear tire? I need a rear tire bad enough that I'm afraid to ride, and I like the look of a wider rear tire. I can get a 190 put on tomorrow, but I don't want to do it and regret it without seeing what a 200 would look like. I'm aware that a 200 would downgrade the level of performance (turn in, etc) but I do not take it to the track as I have not finished taking classes yet for it.
Any help would be great, thanks. |

| Re: 190 vs 200 Rear Tire Hopefully the after is a 190. I know people that like to go 180 but never the other way. Personally I found the 180 not to my liking. Slightly more nimble but didn't have the side grip (on track) I really like a 190/55 but again this is track use.
On a isde note if you did swap remember it will change your speedo as the tire is a different height.

| Re: 190 vs 200 Rear Tire stick with the 190. but after last weeks races, some were running a 200 tire. me personally, i run a pp 2ct 55 series rear on the street, as well as a pr 55 series rear on the track. once you go to a 55 rear, you will NEVER go back to a 50 series rear. |

| Re: 190 vs 200 Rear Tire thanks all for the info. i ride street only and am just beginning actually. i went with a 190/50 as i am nowhere near using half of what the tire can handle. |

lmao, oh really????
obviously you've never ran on a 190/55 then. if so, you will recant your previous statement. my liter bike turns in like butter. effortlessly, no matter how tight the turn is. i run pp 2ct's w/a 55 rear on the street, and pr's with a 55 rear on the track.
and i have NO chicken strips (street tires as well as track tires), even with a more lean angle tire. |

you have to qualify that statement. a 180/55 will turn in better than a 190/50 because of the increased aspect ratio. but as was said a 190/55 will turn in better than a 190/50 and provide you with the larger contact patch of the 190. there's also 190/60s I think and 195s and 200s all with various aspect ratios. if you get specific track rubber (slicks and probably DOTs too) you can get really wide but also really tall tires. a lot of the pros are running 195 and 200s. a MotoGP bike can lean over to 70° while a street tire can only go to about 50°.
but you're wrong about leaving over to gain optimum grip, every tire has more grip when its off the edge of the tire (standing the bike up straighter so you're using the middle of the tire)

| Re: 190 vs 200 Rear Tire dude, same damn thing happened to me. brand new pp 2ct (55 series, 200.00 damn bucks), 400 miles and a small ass finishing/tack nail. found this out at the track, so i dumped 210 on a power race. which im glad i did. love that tire. |

| Re: 190 vs 200 Rear Tire ahh yeah, i dont run on pluged or patched /repaired tires. my 8k+ bike and my well being are worth the 190.00 i spend on a replacement tire.
however, for the daily commuter thats not into hitting the twisties or the track can get away with it, myself i hit the twisties hard and wouldnt trust it to hold up. |
