Best way to drive a V-Twin

Hi! I recently bought a 2001 SP1 and i“m still learning how to drive it. Some people say i must enter the curves in a low gear, however when i ride, i feel much more comfortable curving in rpm“s above 5000. Could someone share the experience of driving this bike safely?
I already had a CBR1000F, Africa Twin 750 and a Yamaha GTS1000 (nothing comparing to SP1).

People are probably telling you that because of the amount of torque that is present in the lower RPMs. Maybe they believe you will come out of the corner quicker when your down on RPMs. But, from what I know about riding, the faster you can go into the corner, surprise...the faster you come out. You will have to get comfortable with the SP before anyone can tell you where you should start and stop acceleration.

Entry speed has nothing to do with RPM (you could go up a gear and have a lower RPM) Ideally you would want to have it stood up before shifting so redline. If you go in at to low an RPM you will get less drive exiting (more power at higher RPM) if you go in to high you slap the limiter before you can shift . That is track use so make it more conservative on the road.

I'd keep it where you feel comfortable. Ultimately that is when you are going to be faster at first and over time you'll change as needed to keep up with the faster riders.

Oh....we RIDE our bikes not DRIVE them....heheheheh
