I knew RC51 could Sport Tour

Ever since I installed my bar riser kit I cant believe how much fun it is to ride my RC. It used to kill my lower back and wrist's to the point that I would find any reason not to take it out. Now I love riding it, probably the most comfy sport tourer I have riden, and the best handling.

Re: I knew RC51 could Sport Tour

The entire set up was right at $500.00 and worth every penny. The kit included a new upper triple clamp, braided steel brake and clutch lines that are longer, new fairing stay, new mirrors, (im still using the originals) spacers for the tank (takes the place of the original fairing stay).
The kit was very complete and took 2 hours to install.

Re: I knew RC51 could Sport Tour

Oh yeh, Its the best mod I have ever done to my RC, I know its not for everyone, but I just got sick of riding in pain. I did not want to get rid of my RC either. With the riser kit and sargent seat (not in pics) it is now an entire different feel, and it handles just as well as before.

Re: I knew RC51 could Sport Tour

I have the same problem, I am trying to rise the bar to a more comfy position. If you can send me a snap shot of the setup and who is the maker?

Thanks in advance.

You wont notice it for the first few months, as the pain from smiling so much will distract you from any discomforts.!

Re: I knew RC51 could Sport Tour

Dan Kyle Clip-ons, and an aftermarket seat turns that bike into a comfy, all day machine. I used to ride mine 500 miles in a day with little to no fatigue. Seat to bar ratio matters a lot. Those Kyle Clip-ons, spread the bars out an inch and up an inch.

Re: I knew RC51 could Sport Tour

I never realized how small of a bike the rc51 is. It's still a blast to ride

Wiley, do you feel like you have a more control in the new riding position? Kind of like a super bad @ss motard!

Re: I knew RC51 could Sport Tour

interesting mod. I think it would feel just too weird with the bars that high (for me at least), but I would love to raise mine an inch or so, maybe make them a little wider/flatter.
I've never really had a problem with my wrists, but I do feel it in my lower back.

Re: I knew RC51 could Sport Tour

I think that looks a little odd, to me anyways. I would have to (and probably will) go with clip-on risers.

Those would go great on a naked RC though!
