frame slider instal ???

Any good tips on marking the holes to cut for frame sliders. Don't want lopsided holes.

Re: frame slider instal ???

Can anyone comment on the the benefit of frame sliders vs. the extended possibility of irreversable damge?

As far as what? Do you mean if they can cause internal damage to engine or frame? Cause I thought they just make you faster.

Obviously they do make you faster - I've heard 2sec a lap on a 1:30 lap .

Any way, I was thinking more of external damge to frame and motor mounting points - when the bike hits a pavment or some other hard object who doesn't realy care the frame slider is there for keeping damge off your bike .

I know at least some of the manufactures considers it but I've seen several bike which were anounced "total loss" due to frame slider damge.

Re: frame slider instal ???

I think a lot of that has to do with the length of the slider. some people think they should be really long so that when the bike tips over the plastics won't touch the ground. the problem with those kinds are they can either dig in or catch something and flip the bike causing a lot more damage. smaller sliders like the ones made by Intuitive like I have on my bike won't protect the plastics but then again they are made to protect the frame not the plastics.
