RC51 vs 06-07 1000RR Fork Lengths

In comparison, how do the fork lengths match up between the RC51 and the 06-07 1000RR? I read somewhere that the RR legs are shorter. But, I also read that some RC owners retrofitted them on their bikes.

Can anyone clarify??
