| NEW TIRES
What are the best tires in your humble opinion:
Street:
Canyon:
Track:
All Around:
Is it the Corsa III, the Pilot Road 2, the Dunlop Qualifier, which is it? Also if you know of a good deal, SHOUT IT OUT!

Much less though and I can go through 2 sets of PP in the same mileage. |

Having said that, the Dunlops do have a short lifetime span.
they are a very fast handling tire and at 200$ a set they are a real bargain. |

I asked them if they gut anything special on tires.
They also had a special 10% discount on helmts - I took the Rx7 (my third Rx7). |

Good choice though. |

| Re: NEW TIRES I just put a set of Corsa III's on and am in love. Even when relatively cold they are hard to spin up. I went with the 190/55 on the rear and am lovign how much further over I can lean. I was a little upset when I first put them on (nail in the tire) and ti got cold, but it has been in the low 70's here the past 3 days so I really got to try them out and felt very comfortable on them today. (we did some nice fast sweepers with a few harder turns today, nothign canyon liek though) |

| Re: NEW TIRES Another vote for the Corsa III's. I've only run them on the track, but the grip level is tremendous. The rear has 4 days on it and will go one more. I'll buy the same next time. Here's a good tire test for anyone interested. http://www.zinio.com/express2?issue=206338267. Rooster, I see you're in Apex, check out Welcome to Cornerspeed for some fun up at VIR. One of the instructors lives in Apex also. I'm south of Garner in your general area. |

| Re: NEW TIRES Right now the RC is my only transportation so I can't put it on the track. I have even had a friend who is starting to race offer to pay for a track day. I guess the track can't be much worse for my bike since I got it in may I have hti a dog (1st week) someone backed into it (month ago) and 2 weeks ago someone pushed it over in a parkign lot. |

| Re: NEW TIRES WOW that is aweful. I would be pissed. Hope it is still in good shape. The RC51's are expected to become collectors items just as the RC30 and RC45's have become.

| Re: NEW TIRES Hey, newbie here. I just picked up a 2001 RC last weekend. I can't wait to start riding. However, before I do I need some new tires. I'm pretty set on getting the Michelin 2CT's, however I'm going back and forth btwn the 180/55 and the 190/55? Any suggestions? I'll be doing mostly street riding, hopefully get in a few track days this year too though. I'm leaning towards the 190/55 but hoping to get opinions of those who've already gone thru this.
Thanks! |

| Re: NEW TIRES I had Mich P/P race on the RC and loved them though they did seem to
take a while to warm-up and get sticky. I have Diablo Corsa on the
06 CBR 1000rr and LOVE them. The chicken strip on them bearly exisists they inspire so much confidence in my so-called "skills" as a rider. And on the Mich's the chicken strip is about 3/16 of an inch. I guess that is all I can put in as far as opinion on tires. I do have a friend that got a set of the Shinkos on his 04 Castrol Blade. He rides alot more agressive than I do and says they seem to be well worth the money as far as performance. I just don't think I could trust an "off brand" for such an important device. |

Corsa3's are my favorite for street/track use. just street i'd stick w/ qualifiers (200set at cycle gear on sale) used the Q's at track and didn't really trust them like i did the Pirelli's, but bought 2 sets onsale so gotta ride them out. back to corsa3's after these are gone. |

| Re: NEW TIRES Work at CycleGear. I'll let you guys know when another sale on tires is coming up. I think right now we've got a 10% off thing going when you buy a set of tires, any brand any make. That might be at all the CycleGear stores too, though I'm not 100% sure because it's a manager's special right now.
Myself, it's been quite a while since I've been on the track. On the street I'm currently using the Corsa 3s in 120/70 and 190/55.
For people who like the Pilot Road 2s, they might also want to check out Dunlop's new Roadsmart tires. Same idea. Dual-compound sport-touring tire. |
